Kayaking

We're open for the season!

Kayaks are great way to enjoy the river. Our kayaks are very stable and maneuverable and the thick floor keeps you higher and dryer than a tube. The 2 person option allows you to float as a couple or bring smaller children. We have youth boats for the younger thrill seekers. Kayaks are great in May and June when the weather is great but the river is still too chilly to float on a tube. Dogs are allowed on kayaks. We put the kayaks away mid August when the river gets very low.

There are a few ways to get on the river with kayaks:

Guided trip with instruction: The best option for first timers or first time on the Icicle or Wenatchee River.
Rental with shuttle: Most common: Meet at our parking lot at the end of the trip, get some instruction and a ride upriver, then float back to the beach near your car.
To Go rentals: Experienced paddlers can pick up kayaks at our meeting location and bring them back when you're done. Fish Lake and Lake wenatchee are nearby as well as other parts of the river.

Guided Kayak Trip and Lesson

Available May 1st - mid July, our guided trip with instruction is great for beginners or experienced kayakers new to the Iclcle and Wenatchee Rivers. We'll cover river safety during the entire trip along with paddling technique, balance, tipping over and getting back on. We will start to play with changes in current, "reading" the water, and moving actively with your kayak. The lesson is approximately 2 hours. Wet suits and booties included.

Adult 18+

Youth 17 & Under

$40

Very stable smaller inflatable kayaks good for kids 7-12. Good for up to 150 pounds. Bigger kids can use the adult boats at the youth price.

Kayak rental with shuttle

Meet at our riverside parking lot at Waterfront Park, get a ride upriver to the launch point, and float back to the end at your own pace. Just like tubing, but warmer, dryer, and more stable.

Adult 18+

Tandem (two-person)

Very stable inflatable kayaks for 2 people. Good for up to 500 pounds. Room for your dog or a dry bag. Not recommended for first timers or lessons because of the paddling and balance coordination required.

Kayak rental TO GO

Come to our location pick up your boats and bring them back when you're done. Take them to the section of river you want or to one of the nearby lakes. 2 and 3 day rentals available too. Life vests and paddles included, but you're doing your own pick up and drop off. Equipment can be transported inflated or deflated we've got straps and pumps. Available May 1 - August 30.
